Standing between the rivers Rh&ocirc;ne and Sa&ocirc;ne, come and discover a spectacular piece of architecture designed by the Austrian firm CoopHimmelb(l)au.

With 70 rooms covering 7,000 m&sup2;, the Museum of Fine Arts in the Palais Saint Pierre is the largest Fine Arts museum in France after the Louvre. It contains sculptures and paintings from the 14th to the 20th century, collections of Egyptian art, oriental art, art objects, coins, etc. Madame Delubac left her collections to the museum in 1997. 
The museum is ranked first among France&#39;s regional museums and fifth among France&#39;s museums. 
It was created in 1803 in a former twelfth century Benedictine convent by Fran&ccedil;ois Royer de la Valfeni&egrave;re. After restoration works by Philippe-Charles Dubois, Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Gabriel Mortamet that began in 1989, the current museum was inaugurated in March 1998. 
Thomas Blanchet (1614-1689) created the baroque statues in the Refectory and on the main stairway.

On the site on which cinematography was born, the museum presents the story of the Lumi&egrave;re Brothers&rsquo; inventions thanks to projections and interactive features on four floors of the Ch&acirc;teau Lumi&egrave;re, the home of Antoine, father of the two famous inventors.

La Maison des Canuts opens the doors of its workshop to the public. Brocade, velvet or figured silk... The secrets of these exceptional silks will be revealed as the techniques used are demonstrated on a Jacquard weaving loom.

Travel with the yachts of Lyon on the Sa&ocirc;ne from Vaise district, pass by Trainstation Saint-Paul, the Bellecour district, and rejoin the waterway at Confluence, where you can enjoy the recreational area and participate in cultural activities and sports. The symbol of the Confluence Shopping and Leisure Centre, the Vaporetto is a river shuttle that links the Confluence district to Vaise via Lyon city centre. &nbsp;It has four stops: Confluence, Bellecour, Saint-Paul and Vaise. The Vaporetto has capacity for up to 90 passengers. It also has 20 seats at the front to enjoy the beautiful view even more.

Following an initial opening in September 2019, the CIG soon had to close due to the pandemic. In September 2020, Greater Lyon reopened the most iconic parts of the Grand H&ocirc;tel-Dieu building, as well as the H&ocirc;pital de la Charit&eacute;, making them free to access for visitors.

Today, a new plan has been launched that is more in phase with today&rsquo;s challenges, involving all stakeholders in the local area. The future plan for Lyon&rsquo;s CIG aims to be as innovative and forward-looking as the history of the building it is located in, by engaging with the economic and environmental challenges of tomorrow&rsquo;s food. It will be a place where people can come to work, exchange, promote, experiment and innovate. The focus will be as much on Michelin-starred cuisine as it is on everyday food, going beyond the boundaries of gastronomy.

The new CIG will no longer be just a museum, but a place that brings together several worlds: 
- a city for children: a place to learn about taste, at &ldquo;children&rsquo;s eye level&rdquo;, which is accessible to all audiences. 
- a city that represents the food industry: a unifying place, open to participation by all people working in the areas of gastronomy, catering, farming, food and health.

The new plan for the Cit&eacute; Internationale de la Gastronomie (International City of Gastronomy) will be rolled out until 2023. The aim is to adopt an approach to gastronomy that is vibrant, based on local food, and promotes the work of food and agriculture professionals, all in a single place.

These experiences are only available from DreamAway in Lyon and come from internationally renowned studios.

They can bring together up to 10 people simultaneously for the general public format. The site can accommodate up to 80 people for private events, seminars and team building.

Godart and Rue Lebrun, Lyon 4th district, Tuesday to Saturday from 3-5 pm all year round: Enter the workshop that formerly belonged to the Ressicaud family to see a demonstration of weaving on a Jacquard and mechanical looms in a 19th century family setting (kitchen and roof space).

On reservation: Weaving sessions for 7-12 year-olds during the school holidays. Les samedis des ptits filous, for 4-6 year-olds, are held on the first Saturday of the month, from 10-11 am.

Encouraged by the Soierie Vivante, a &quot;Georges Mattelon&quot; plaque has been placed at the corner of the Rue Richan and Rue Tour du Pin. M. The elegance of silk work presented in one of the last family-owned workshops in the area. Experience what it would have been like to be a weaver with a real demonstration.

Visitors, equipped with an audio-guide, are invited to enter into a universe of sound and vision and be guided through a dark period of history.They will rediscover the resistance, deportation, the genocide of Jewish people and the most important events under the Occupation.
