As a Musée de France (Museum of France), the Écomusée d'Alsace (Alsace Ecomuseum) carries out missions of conservation, research, and transmission, notably through the presentation of traditional skills and know-how. Located in Ungersheim, it also participates in a contemporary approach to reflecting on the relationships between societies, territories, and the environment.

The Écomusée is the largest living, open-air museum in France: explore an early 20th century Alsatian village, with its streets, buildings, gardens and fields. Traditional village festivities, daily events and demonstrations take place in the village throughout the year.
